Betta Care Hub was created to give betta fish owners practical, trustworthy information based on real aquarium experience and veterinary knowledge.
The site was founded by Mark Thompson, an experienced aquarist and betta keeper with more than five years of hands-on fishkeeping experience, with veterinary input from Dr. Emily Jorge, DVM, who specializes in aquatic animal health.
Our goal is simple: to help betta owners understand their fish and provide the right environment, nutrition, aquarium conditions, and everyday care.

Why We Started Betta Care Hub
My interest in betta fish grew from years of keeping and caring for aquarium fish.
As I gained more experience, I noticed how often betta owners encountered conflicting advice about tank size, water quality, feeding, behavior, diseases, plants, and tank mates. Some recommendations were repeated so frequently that they were treated as facts without considering the individual needs of the fish.
I started Betta Care Hub to create a more practical resource for people who want to understand the reasons behind good betta care rather than simply follow a list of rules.
My experience as an aquarist gives me a practical perspective on aquarium setup, maintenance, fish behavior, and the day-to-day challenges of keeping bettas. For health-related topics, veterinary expertise provides an additional perspective that helps us approach these subjects responsibly.
The aim has never been to replace professional veterinary care. Instead, we want to help betta owners recognize potential problems, understand basic care principles, and know when professional advice may be appropriate.

I have more than five years of hands-on experience keeping fish, including caring for and breeding bettas. Over the years, I have spent considerable time maintaining aquariums, observing fish behavior, managing water quality, and learning how different aquarium conditions affect fish health and behavior.
